With January in the books, 2021 is turning out to be a hot year for new video game releases! And since it is the season of romance, here are a few games that we can’t wait to fall in love with this month!

Little Nightmares II

Tarsier StudiosLittle Nightmares II is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 indie hit, Little Nightmares. The original is an unforgettable puzzle-platformer horror game. With its exaggerated and grotesque characters, the art style enhanced the dark story surrounding a little girl name Six. In the sequel, we meet a new character, Mono, who traverses the twisted, disturbing world of Pale City. Six also returns, and, together with Mono, the two must work together to get out of the city! Players will explore new locations and face new monstrous foes like the Teacher, the Doctor, and the Thin Man.

Little Nightmares II will release on February 11, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on Steam

Curse of the Dead Gods

Take everything you love about HadesDark Souls, and Darkest Dungeon and mesh them all into one to get one of the most fun action roguelike games I have played: Curse of the Dead Gods. This top-down dark fantasy fighting game from Passtech Games and Focus Home Interactive takes players on a journey to seek untold riches, eternal life, and divine powers within an accursed temple. A labyrinth of bottomless pits, deadly traps, and Lovecraft-inspired monsters. It was initially released in early access for PC through Steam back in March of 2020 and is now getting ready to jump to consoles for the official release. Overall, we can’t wait to get our hands on this to test the combat system and see what awaits us in this dark, twisted temple.

Curse of the Dead Gods releases on February 23, 2021, for PC through Steam, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

Persona 5 Strikers

The Phantom Thieves are back! In this thrilling continuation of the Persona 5 story, players will once again take on the role of Joker and save the citizens of Tokyo from even more corruption. Persona 5 Strikers trades the turn-based JRPG style for hack-and-slash gameplay similar to Dynasty Warriors. Moreover, players can look forward to fusing personas, leveling up characters via side quests, and of course, jamming out to more fantastic Persona 5 songs! All of us at GGA can’t wait to fight alongside Ann, Ryuji, Mona, Makoto, Haru, Futaba, and (my personal favorite) Yusuke once again. Whether you are a longtime Persona series fan or someone who enjoys hack and slash games, Persona 5 Strikers is a must-play this month!

Persona 5 Strikers will be available on February 23, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC through Steam.

Bravely Default II

The second installment of Square Enix’s popular RPG (role-playing game) series, Bravely Default II, is almost here. This title will be a direct story follow up, picking up after the events of Bravely Default. It will feature the same turn-based battles similar to other Square Enix titles. Set in a whole new world on the continent of Excillant, Bravely Default II follows four characters, Seth, Gloria, Elvis, and Adelle. This whole new world also brings a fun cast of additional characters that will join your team as you progress through jobs to level up skills to build the strongest team. We can’t wait to embark on this magical journey and see what is in store for us!

Bravely Default II is set to release on February 26, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
