Fear the Walking Dead released a trailer for the second half of season six after the mid-season finale. The show started using an anthology style of storytelling this season and the fans are loving it. But there are many questions following the mid-season finale. And the trailer raises even more questions.
Season five ended with Morgan (Lennie James) giving into Virginia (Colby Minifie) and allowing her to take him and his people. Virginia split everyone up but she didn’t take Morgan. She shot him and left him for dead. Someone was close by and saved Morgan’s life. Now Morgan is determined to bring his family back together, someplace where Virginia will never find them. But who is Morgan’s savior?
Morgan found Dwight (Austin Amelio), Althea (Maggie Grace), and some refugees. They faked their deaths so the rangers wouldn’t go looking for them. And in the mid-season finale, he found Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) and Virginia’s younger sister Dakota (Zoe Colletti). Dakota revealed that Virginia killed their parents. She’s been trying to run away ever since.
John (Garret Dillahunt) ran away, June (Jenna Elfman) stayed to build a hospital with Sarah (Mo Collins) and Wendell (Daryl Mitchell). Tank Town blew up so Luciana (Danay Garcia) lost her job. They haven’t revealed where she ended up yet, but everyone else is in Lawton. Strand (Colman Domingo) became one of Virginia’s rangers and was given some freedoms. He says he’s using the freedom to bring down Virginia from the inside, but that’s take a long time. Daniel is around and is pretending to have some memory issues. That just leaves Grace (Karen David).
Morgan is very concerned for Grace because she’s pregnant and he’s in love with her. He found a dried up lake used to cover an old town. He also found a new friend, Rachel (Brigitte Kali Canales) who just had a baby. His plan is to find Grace and take her to the lake. Ginny will never look there because she thinks there’s still a lake there.
And where is Grace? After Strand decided to take Ginny’s side, she revealed that Grace is alive and well and very pregnant. Ginny is keeping Grace hidden in Lawton and plans to use her as leverage. She instructed Strand to bring everyone back.
As always, there are new people. Dwight finally found Sherry (Christine Evangelista). She is running around with a group of people kicked out of Virginia’s communities. They stole the SWAT van from one of the rangers and plan to use it to attack Virginia and her rangers. Dwight tried to talk Sherry out of it, but she’s thinks will make up for her time with the Saviors.
And then there’s the doomsday people. All we know about them is that they run around looking for a key and they paint “The End is the Beginning” on everything. Ginny is scared of these people. They are responsible for destroying Tank Town. She’s only caught one person associated with the group and that person killed themselves to avoid talking to Ginny.
In the trailer for the second half of Fear the Walking Dead, a new player comes into the game. John Glover joins the cast of Fear TWD as the leader of the doomsday group. He warns people that death, destruction and decay are coming. And he has Alicia! Apparently he’s been looking for someone just like her.
Morgan eventually finds John. It appears June leaves to look for him. Dakota makes a new life with Morgan and group. And as for Ginny, she gathers the remaining members of Morgan’s group and threatens their lives. Can Morgan save them in time? Don’t forget about Sherry and her gang. They are still out there and still out for revenge. This looks good! And it looks like Ginny is going to lose.
Co-showrunner Ian Goldberg told comicbook.com, “We’re going to continue to see how he [Morgan] builds that up spot with the ultimate goal of reuniting the family and bringing them all behind the dam wall there. Obviously, that’s a tall order, and with everybody split apart under different encampments for Virginia, it’s going to be tricky, but we’re building toward that moment in the next several episodes.”
Did Virginia really kill her parents? Why can’t she just let anyone go? You can watch the Fear the Walking Dead season six trailer below.
