Fear Street: Prom Queen 

Winning the crown might be the death of you. The next installment in the Fear Street franchise is here to send a shiver down your spine. Netflix has shared the official trailer for Fear Street: Prom Queen, a new slasher horror film that sees a 1980s prom culminate in unabating bloodshed.

Here’s a synopsis per Netflix: 

“Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider puts herself in the running, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”

Based on R.L. Stine’s titular horror fiction series, the Fear Street adaptations premiered on Netflix in 2021 as a special three-week event. Fear Street Part One: 1994 hit the streamer on July 2, with Fear Street Part Two: 1978 debuting on July 9 and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 releasing on July 16. This film is adapted from Stine’s novel, The Prom Queen

The movie stars Ariana Greenblatt, India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Lili Taylor, Darrin Baker, Rebecca Ablack, Ilan O’Driscoll, Damian Romeo, Dakota Taylor, Eden Summer Gilmore, Brennan Clost, Cecilia Lee, Ryan Rosery and Katherine Waterston. Matt Palmer directs from a script he wrote with Donald McLeary.
