Fantastic Four is expanding its impressive cast roster. According to Deadline, in-demand actor Paul Walter Hauser will join the highly anticipated Marvel flick in an undisclosed role. The news comes hot on the heels of a few announcements regarding Hauser’s involvement in high-profile projects.
This film marks the titular superhero team’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pedro Pascal leads the charge as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/Thing. In addition to the main cast, Julia Garner boards the movie as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer.

Behind-the-Scenes Crew
Matt Shakman helms Fantastic Four from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Eric Pearson. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created the superhero quartet, which first appeared in Marvel Comics in The Fantastic Four #1 issue from November 1961.
As of writing, plot details are under wraps. The film may take place in the 1960s, but this is pure conjecture based on the few posters we’ve seen thus far.

Hauser recently joined the Naked Gun reboot as Captain Ed, starring opposite Liam Neeson. He’ll also star as Chris Farley in an upcoming biopic about the late comedian. Other notable credits include 2017’s I, Tonya, 2018’s BlacKkKlansman, 2019’s Richard Jewell, a recurring role on Netflix’s Cobra Kai and Apple’s 2022 miniseries Black Bird, which earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Paul Walter Hauser is a stellar performer. He always gives his all in every role he tackles—even something as silly as Stingray in Cobra Kai. I’m curious to learn who he’s playing and see him in his first Marvel movie.
Fantastic Four soars into theaters on July 25, 2025.
