FANTASTIC FOUR Cast Revealed: Pascal, Kirby, Quinn and Moss-Bachrach

  • Marvel Studios has announced the cast for their upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, The Fantastic Four. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play the famous foursome. 
  • Marvel has swapped the release dates for The Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts.
  • No word on who will play Victor von Doom or if the villain will appear in the MCU film.

After years of waiting, Marvel Studios has cast their first family: the Fantastic Four! Plus, Marvel Studios has also swapped the release dates for Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts. As previously announced, Fantastic Four is to be directed by Matt Shakman. Meanwhile, the script will be written by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

Fantastic Four Cast

Little is known about the Marvel Cinematic Universe incarnation of the Fantastic Four. The basic premise of the story sees four astronauts undertake an exploratory voyage to the Negative Zone. However, the experience leaves the quartet irrevocably changed in different ways.

First up is patriarch Reed Richards. As was rumored, this part is to be played by Pedro Pascal in the MCU. Richards gains the ability to stretch his body into any form. Thus, he adopts the moniker “Mr. Fantastic.” His wife, Sue Storm, will be played by Vanessa Kirby in the MCU. Sue gains the ability to become invisible and project forcefields. Naturally, she adopts the name “The Invisible Woman.”

Sue’s brother, Johnny Storm, will be played by Joseph Quinn. Johnny gains the ability to ignite his entire body in flame, without personal harm. He takes the (lightly used) superhero name “The Human Torch.” And finally, family friend Ben Grimm will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Grimm’s transformation may be the most dramatic, as he is permanently transformed into an entity comprised of orange rock. This leads him to adopt the name “The Thing.” However, while the transformation may be unenviable, The Thing is one of Marvel Comics’ most popular characters.

But nevertheless, one question looms large in the wake of the announcement. Just who will play Fantastic Four antagonist Victor von Doom? Because he’s considered to be Marvel’s ultimate supervillain, Doom could end up playing a key role in the upcoming Secret Wars adaptation. Fantastic Four is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 25, 2025, with Thunderbolts now scheduled for release on May 2, 2025.
