Today the passionate fans behind the #ReleaseTheSnyderCute movement can finally rejoice. HBO Max and Warner Bros Pictures announced today that they have partnered with Zack Snyder to bring the exclusive premiere of his cut for the DC film Justice League. It will release on HBO Max in 2021. The film, which initially released in 2017, kicked off a considerable controversy. After Snyder stepped down, Joss Whedon took over his role and made significant changes to the film before it’s release.
Fans believed that Snyder had shot enough material to release the film on his own. This idea kicked off the massive movement. And now we know that they were right. No one has made a comment on exactly how the new film will be distributed. However, The Hollywood Reporter shared that it could be a four-hour director’s cut or even six smaller episodes.
