The character’s official description is, “Falk will play Carter Hall, the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée). Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as ‘Hawkman.'”
It’s interesting that they went with this particular incarnation of the character, choosing to ground him on Earth instead of making him the Katar Hol, the extraterrestrial police officer from the distant planet of Thanagar. This decision could better lend itself to the more mystical, magical side of things and could be a sign of what’s to come, with Egyptian magic and reincarnation coming into the mix.
Hentschel’s other credits include White House Down and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., among others.
The DC/CW series, Legends of Tomorrow, will air as a mid-season snack to its sister shows, Arrow and Flash, while they are on hiatus. The highly-anticipated series stars Brandon Routh as The Atom, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Caity Lotz as White Canary. It also will introduce the time-traveling character of Rip Hunter as played by Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill.
In case you’ve somehow forgotten just how bad ass Legends of Tomorrow looks, go ahead and rematch this trailer for the series.
