Syfy‘s The Expanse is getting a ton of buzz from fans of the genre for its first two seasons for its incredible storytelling and compelling characters. Based on the best-selling books by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S.A. Corey), The Expanse is getting a third season, and Academy Award-Nominated actor David Strathairn will be playing a ‘key role’ according to Deadline.
Strathairn has recently had large roles as Doctor Lee Rosen in Syfy’s The Alphas and Peter Kotsiopulos on The Blacklist. I know him best for his role as Ira Lowenstein in A League of Their Own… just saying. Though the actual nature of his character’s role in the show is being kept under wraps, Strathairn is reportedly playing a ‘substantial character with a significant arc.’
Season 3 of The Expanse is currently filming in Toronto. It’s expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming season!
