You know how over the weekend there was this little event called San Diego Comic Con? And you know how at the WB panel, they showed an exclusive trailer for their highly-anticipated film, The Suicide Squad? Well, what they intended to be a special one-time only experience for that crowd has now been released to the entire world due to the pirated footage that a few con-goers have leaked. On the one hand, YAY! On the other hand, BOO!
We open on Amanda Waller telling some military officials that she has “the worst of the worst,” followed by her telling them she plans to use them for the good guys. Then we get to meet the worst of the worst, with pretty much every member of the Suicide Squad getting a moment. It finally ends with Jared Leto as The Joker getting right in our faces warning us how bad he’s gonna hurt us.
Warner Bros. also released this statement along with the footage.
“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”
