Entertainment Weekly will feature 16 covers for their upcoming special Game of Thrones issue. The magazine is featuring a double issue on the final season of the series, including a story on the Battle of Winterfell.
We’ve waited so long for the final season. HBO has been very good about keeping the show’s secrets and avoiding any revealing behind the scenes photos. The PR team has been busy this week releasing a lot of photos, but not revealing anything that would spoil the series. Kudos! And EW has been at the forefront of information, giving us these amazing and exciting cover photos.
Six covers belong to duos who’s stories intertwine with each other. Two of the cutest couples EVER, Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson), Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) and Gilly (Hannah Murray). Distrusting and loyal servants Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) and Melisandre (Carice van Houton) and Varys (Conleth Hill) with Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen). Warring families the Greyjoys – Theon (Alfie Allen) and Euron (Pilou Asbaek), The brothers – “The Mountain” Ser Gregor (Hafþór Björnsson) and “The Hound” Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann). Does this mean we’re getting the Clegane bowl?!
And the solo covers belong to the nobles, Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams), and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), John Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clark), Cersei (Lena Headey), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and the Night King (Vladimír Furdík). What about the dragons?!
Check out the covers below. The Game of Thrones final season begins Sunday, April 14 on HBO.
