More Evil Dead? BOOM STICK? YES PLEASE!

If you’re like me, you grew up with Evil Dead. You loved it. Then you got Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness and all was right right in our newly post-communist world. Those movies formed a part of your being, your sense of humor and stirred your geek nerve center.

You’ve happily gone through life watching anything and every thing that Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell put into the zietgiest. You see Bruce Campbell as many times as you can at every Con you can.

THEN! This year they remake Evil Dead. It’s good, even if it loses some of the Sam Raimi/Rob Tapert/Bruce Campbell brilliance, it’s still good. You’re content.

NOW!!! STARZ has announced a straight to series, 10-episode show based on the horror trend-setting films! That right! In 2015, Deadites shall be unleashed upon the world in Ash vs. Evil. Now that is an awesome title. Better yet, the Dream Team is back! According to Deadline, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell are all lined up as Executive Producers.

THE BEST NEWS though, is that Campbell is back as Ash! I repeat, Bruce Campbell is reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.

COME ON! This is the best Christmas present ever!

Raimi is set to direct the first episode and said of the project, “Evil Dead has always been a blast, Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”

Hurry up, 2015! Let’s kick some Deadite ass!
