Netflix has revealed what Originals, movies, TV series, anime, documentaries and stand-up specials are coming to the streaming giant in September 2024 plus what’s leaving.
September 2024 is looking to be a slower month on Netflix but there are still plenty of exciting options. On the television series side, Nicole Kidman continues her whodunnit era and we’re here for it. This time, it’s a show called The Perfect Couple which drops September 5th. This mystery, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s New York Times bestselling novel, takes place in Nantucket and stars Liev Schrieber.
From Netflix Animation comes Zack Snyder’s Twilight of the Gods, available on September 19th. This take on Norse mythology follows mortal king Leif and iron-willed warrior Sigrid who fall in love. Thor then unleashes a wrath of terror that sets them on a merciless mission for vengeance.
On the movie side, we’re most excited about a non-Netlix original. The science fiction classic, Edge of Tomorrow which stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt drops on September 7th. This movie gives endless re-watchability vibes. After all, its tagline is Live, Die, Repeat.
As far as Netflix Original Films, Uglies premieres on September 13th and is based on the wildly popular YA novel of the same name. In a futuristic dystopia with enforced beauty standards, a teen awaiting mandatory cosmetic surgery embarks on a journey to find her missing friend. The film stars and is executive produced by Joey King.
Will Ferrell stars in the documentary series Will and Harper. When Will Ferrell’s good friend of 30 years, Harper Steele comes out as a trans woman, the pair embark on a road trip to process this new stage in their friendship and reintroduce Harper to the country she loves as her authentic self.
