It’s about dang time! Everyone’s favorite geek legend Mark Hamill will finally be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 2,630th star, to be exact. The actor is known for his iconic roles of voicing The Joker in various DC projects, playing Trickster in the Flash (both new and old) and of course Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. Variety reports details on the ceremony and who will be joining Hamill for the event.
The ceremony is set to take place on March 8th, at 11:30 a.m. in front of El Capitan Theatre. And, in some of my favorite news about the event, George Lucas and Harrison Ford will help emcee. Good ol’ Lucas and curmudgeon Ford! I can’t wait to hear what they have to say about Mark. While they’ll mostly focus on Star Wars, Hamill’s career has been incredibly long and vast, becoming prolific in voice acting work as well. All you have to do is scroll on his filmography page and see just how much he’s done to entertain us.

Hamill, being highly vocal on his social media, commented on receiving the honor. And of course he couldn’t help himself in giving a good jab to the man in white house.
Can’t say this is a dream come true because I was never foolish enough to think something like this could ever happen. When part of me doubts I deserve such an honor, I remind myself that someone got a “Star” for just one crappy reality show.
Major congratulations to Mark Hamill! A well deserved honor indeed! Now we wait for Carrie Fisher‘s.
