Oh, MCU, just when I think you have shocked us enough … you drop a new bomb on us. This one comes in the form of exclusive character posters through Entertainment Weekly for Eternals. And these aren’t just any old character posters, they are animated but still keep a simplistic style showing off the group’s suits with black backdrops and gold embellishments that give them a god-like appearance.

From director Chloé Zhao comes the next chapter of the MCU. And this time, we are taking things all the way back to the beginning. Eternals follows the group of the same name sent from the planet Olympia to fight against evil Deviants on Earth. Created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s, they are god-like humanoid aliens who have been silently keeping watch for the last 7,000 years. They have always given me the impression of the Greek Gods, which heavily comes from the idea that their home planet is Olympia.
Each character poster features a member of the Eternals. We have Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Druig (Barry Keoghan), Gilgamesh (Don Lee), Ajak (Salma Hayek) and Thena (Angelina Jolie). I am so used to the overly intense action-packed character posters from Marvel, so I had a moment of awe when I saw these. They are really mythical, which is what I have been hoping for all this time.
