In this episode, former radio DJ turned finance guy Chris Brooker joins Heather Brooker and Claudia Dolph to breakdown the sounds of Sci-Fi. Audrey was out sick and we tried not to have too much fun without her. But there was booze involved so…
Star Trek has created some of the most recognizable music in film and television history, but we’re expanding our universe this week and also talking about Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Blade Runner, Fifth Element, Battlestar Galactica and more.
We also talk about the differences between the Sci-Fi soundtrack and score when it comes to how we feel about a show. Film’s like Back To The Future, and Ghostbusters had fantastic soundtracks that to this day take us back to the time and place we first saw those films.
The new show Stranger Things is taking the world by storm and many people credit the phenomenal soundtrack for part of it’s success. Music has such a wonderful connectivity among Sci-Fi fans. In fact we could have kept going on this topic for hours because there are so many great songs, riffs, and scores to revisit.
