Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune is one of the most anticipated films of 2020. Empire Magazine knows that better than anyone. The publication revealed two world-exclusive covers for the sci-fi epic on Friday. These covers are for Empire’s October 2020 issue.

Now, the first cover is all about House Atreides. We see Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto, Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, and Rebecca Ferguson as the Bene Gesserit witch Lady Jessica. A beautifully windswept landscape complements them in the background. The tagline “Spaceships! Spice! Sandworms!” is emblazoned in orange across the magazine cover.

Secondly, we see the next cover showcases The Fremen. Zendaya as Chani is pictured along with Javier Bardem‘s tribal leader Stilgar. Additionally, there’s Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Liet-Kynes and Jason Mamoa as Duncan Idaho. Empire revealed that Mamoa’s character isn’t a Fremen, but his destiny may “ultimately lie with them.” This cover has a brighter feel to it, but it’s still rife with desert sand and soaring spaceships in the distance. Nothing screams “sci-fi” like a good ol’ spaceship.

Personally, I’m tickled pink for Dune. Villeneuve has solidified himself as a top-tier science fiction storyteller. This project is no easy feat to tackle but if anyone can breathe life into this epic masterpiece, it’s Villeneuve.
