Hilary Swank is taking the space shuttle less traveled in Netflix’s newest celestial drama Away. The TV series debuted an official trailer and accompanying poster on Monday. And, from the looks of it, you may want to keep a box of tissues on hand.

Now, the series centers around Emma Green (Swank), an astronaut joining the first manned mission to Mars. While traveling across the solar system to the Red Planet, we see her family struggling on Earth. Her husband Matt (Josh Charles) suffers from a health scare. Meanwhile, her daughter Alexis (Talitha Eliana Bateman) also grapples with Emma’s long journey to another planet. We see a cast of characters joining Emma on her sojourn to Mars. There’s Kwesi (Ato Essandoh), Isaac (Adam Irigoyen), Misha (Mark Ivanir), Ram (Ray Panthaki), and Yu (Vivian Wu). Emotions run high as the crew of astronauts learn to deal with the implications of navigating uncharted territory while being so far from home. Not to mention, we see how this affects those they leave behind.

Additionally, the official poster has a space shuttle with a close-up of Swank, Charles, and Bateman. The tagline reads, “Home can never leave you.” Very much befitting Away, as “family” and the concept of “home” seem to be rampant themes.

The trailer is very simple, which I can appreciate — not a lot of convoluted plot points jammed into it, for starters. Rather, it focuses solely on family while highlighting the significance of humankind’s first mission to Mars. I’m on board.
