Eman Esfandi is traveling to a galaxy far, far away (Sorry, it only feels natural to offer this response to every Star Wars newcomer.). According to Cinelinx, the actor will portray fan favorite Ezra Bridger in the Rosario Dawson-led live-action series Ahsoka

The character of Ezra Bridger made his animated debut in the critic and audience-beloved Star Wars Rebels in 2014. Voiced by Taylor Gray, Ezra is a young Force-sensitive human who grew up on Lothal. With his homeworld controlled by the Galactic Empire, Ezra tries to survive the rampant crime in the Capital City. Later, he’s taken by Kanan Jarrus and becomes the latter’s Jedi apprentice. Then, Ezra joins the Ghost Crew in the Rebellion against the Empire.

Rosario Dawson stars as the titular Ahsoka Tano, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo portraying Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Rounding out the cast is Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ray Stevenson. Ahsoka hails from Star Wars lauded veterans Dave Filoni, who serves as co-creator, writer and executive producer; Jon Favreau is also an executive producer.

Little is known about the plot save Ahsoka’s cross-galaxy journey to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ezra Bridger’s tale ends in Star Wars Rebels with him and Thrawn vanishing into space.

As for Eman Esfandi, the actor’s credits include Red 11King Richard and The Inspection, a gay military drama receiving top praise at the Toronto International Film Festival.

I believe Eman looks so much like Ezra, making this casting pitch-perfect. I’m excited to see what he brings to the table when Ahsoka finally hits the small screen.

Embark on a Force-ful journey when Ahsoka premieres on March 12, 2023, only on Disney Plus.
