The Hamilton film is just around the corner and it’s certainly been an exciting road to get the filmed musical to the screen. In February, Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted that Hamilton was coming to the big screen saying, “Disney presents Hamilton. With The Original Broadway Cast. Filmed onstage at The Richard Rodgers Theatre. In A Theater Near You. October 15, 2021. #Hamilfilm“ Then the pandemic happened and Disney made the surprising but very welcome announcement, Hamilton will come 15 months early on July 3rd and it will come to your home on Disney Plus

The new streaming service just dropped a trailer for the film and it is, in a word, electrifying. Fans everywhere are already excited and this trailer just pushes the adrenalin past 11. We’re almost there Hamilfans!

“Hamilton” is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, “Hamilton” has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education. Filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, the film transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way.
