The Dark Tower official trailer is due to drop tomorrow. But, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey just couldn’t wait until then. They donned their characters for some moments today in a bit of a footage fight on Twitter, releasing two teasers to up our anticipation for the full trailer. And, it worked.

McConaughey started it. Figures. His tweet to Elba “Do you want the tower?” got the ball rolling. McConaughey was also the first to release footage. The first teaser shows The Man in Black (McConaughey) walking through the snow and bodies. You hear his voice “The war is over. You know it’s coming. The tower will fall.” Idris Elba fired back, figuratively and literally. The clip of The Gunslinger (Elba) loading pistols with bullets flying through the air… amazing… and saying, “I do not kill with my gun. I kill with my heart,” ended the conversation.
The film adaptation of Stephen King‘s book The Gunslinger is much anticipated. Considering the book came out 35 years ago… people are excited!!!
The Dark Tower will be in theaters on August 4th.
