Here’s some good news.  Frank Spotnitz (executive producer of The X-Files) is bringing a live-action series based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe to television!  It’s called Eisenhorn, and it’s already in the works.

Eisenhorn will be set in the world of the Warhammer 40,000 game and books, but focus principally on Dan Abnett’s novels.  It will follow “inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his band of investigators as they fight to thwart the schemes of aliens and heretics.”  That’s according to Variety, which reported on Wednesday.

Spotnitz sounded confident and excited in a statement about his new project.  He said, “Warhammer 40,000’ is steeped in rich and complex lore, with a myriad of traditions and stories that have accumulated over time in this thrilling and complex world, making it one of the most exciting properties to adapt for television audiences and the franchise’s loyal global fan base,” and… “There is nothing else like it on television.”

There is no network or streaming platform currently attached to the Eisenhorn series.  And, no dates have been announced.  But, we do know that this is not the only Warhammer 40,000 project in the works.  There is also a forth-coming animated series, directed by Richard Boylan, called Angels of Death.  We’ll keep you updated on further developments in both projects!
