Marvel’s Edge of Spider-Verse has introduced web-heads to several multiverses of new Spider-Heroes over the last several months, including Zarina, a Muslim Spider-UK. Yet, there are still more new Spidey people to come. And more Spidey doom buggies, a.k.a the Spider-Mobile but sentient, to come. However, Marvel remains tight-lipped about the identity of one of the new Spider-Persons. Well, tight-lipped-ish. Marvel has already revealed the name of the top secret new Spider-Hero as Syllie Spider, created by the Spider-Verse filmmaker Phil Lord and artist David Lopez.
But Syllie isn’t the only new Spider-Hero that will be introduced in the final issue of Edge of Spider-Verse! Read on to learn more, web-heads.

In addition to revealing a top-secret new Spider-Hero, Marvel also hinted at the origin story of the first openly gay Spider-Man (some of us have been shipping the Spiders for years, and for a good cause too). Web-Weaver, whose costume is all about that spider realness, was designed by long-time House of Van Dyne fan Kris Anka, who was inspired by a Weaver spider’s markings. In addition to the in-universe inspiration, Anka explained that his designs for this character’s black and gold costume came from the work of Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQueen.
Marvel describes the character as a “not so mild-mannered fashion designer” whose “spider powers show us a very different kind of Spider-slayer.” Coincidentally, Web-Weaver will also be working for the House of Van Dyne when he is introduced in Edge of Spider-Verse #5 by Steve Foxe and Kei Zama, arriving online and in stores on October 5, 2022.
