I want just a sliver of the year Capcom has been having. Seriously, they are really celebrating Resident Evil‘s 25th anniversary all year long! During the E3 2021 showcase today, they dropped even more news surrounding the survival horror franchise!

RELATED: Keep up with all of our E3 2021 content!

The first bit of news comes for their upcoming title RE: Verse. It was originally announced back in January this year as a tie along to the Resident Evil Village release. But this isn’t just another fun mini-game. This is an entirely new game for fans to enjoy. We get the chance to play as one of our favorite characters within the franchise (tyrants and all) as we go head to head against friends in an all-out brawl.

Capcom announced today that we wouldn’t have to wait much longer to dive in! RE: Verse is set to launch next month. While we don’t have an actual date, I am hoping it is on the earlier side. Those who prepurchased Resident Evil Village will already have access to RE: Verse when it launches! If you didn’t prepurchase, that’s okay! You can still join in on the action when the title launches.

The second bit of news comes for Resident Evil Village and I couldn’t be more excited! The team at Capcom has seen our love for this incredible title and has answered all of our pleas and prayers. They have begun work on a new DLC! Of course, it is too early to share any actual details, but knowing that it is coming is enough for me. That isn’t going to stop me from sharing what I want to see, though.

So Capcom, if you are listening, I would love to see a backstory for the four lords, a peek into what Ada Wong would have been up to or take it all the way back and give us a look at Miranda and Spencer’s meeting! Honestly, the longer I think about it, the more ideas that come to mind. But whatever they decide is fine with me. Now we can spend the next few months waiting ever so patiently to dive into the world again.

If you haven’t played Resident Evil Village, now is the best time to dive in! Resident Evil Village is available for PC through Steam, PlayStation 4PlayStation 5Xbox One and the Xbox Series XRE: Verse will be available on PC through Steam, PS4 and Xbox One. How excited are you? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
