E3 2019 is here! The annual conference gives video game developers a chance to show off their upcoming games via new trailers and announcements. Xbox just held theirs and there was plenty of news on not only video games but some new information on the next console. There were over 60 games announced during the Xbox E3 briefing and we won’t be covering them all, but here are a handful of games that Xbox fans will be able to get their hands on soon.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The trailer that Microsoft released for the upcoming Respawn and EA Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was pretty good at showcasing different aspects of the game while not revealing too much of the story. This game looks like it’s going to be a ton of fun and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be released on November 15, 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4

Cyberpunk 2077

This presentation, in my opinion, was the best of all of the reveals because not only did we finally get a release date for this game but that none other than Keanu Reeves will appear in it as well. Reeves himself appeared on stage to announce the release date which as a little under a year away. The trailer itself was a heck of a fun ride and overall I believe CD PROJEKT RED has another massive hit on their hands in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Halo Infinite

Halo is back and the franchise is bringing Master Chief back with it! The cinematic trailer reveal shows the Chief being discovered while floating through space. After waking up the ship is attacked and Chief gets back into action. Are you ready for the return of Halo? It’s launching Holiday 2020 for the next-gen Xbox console. (More on that below!)

12 Minutes

I have to say that I hadn’t heard of this game until I saw the trailer during E3. It looks like it could be a ton of fun to play as it’s an interactive thriller story with a time loop element. Think along the lines of the movie Groundhog Day only you have to participate instead of watch.

There is no release date at this time.

Gears 5

Gears 5 showcased a brilliantly haunting trailer for the upcoming game that not only got me hyped for the game but also didn’t reveal anything about it. During the panel it was announced that there will be a version of the game called Gears Escape, a 3-player co-op game mode where players can create their own hive maps to challenge themselves and friends. The trailer for that is below:

Gears 5 will be released on May, 9, 2019 exclusively for Xbox.

Dying Light 2

Although I haven’t gotten around to playing the first Dying Light yet, the trailer for the sequel has made me move it up the list of games I’m planning to play next. The free-running zombie killing looks like it could be a ton of fun!

Dying Light 2 will be released in early 2020 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Borderlands 3

The official Borderlands 3 trailer reveals characters both new and old for the franchise and man does it look like things haven’t changed much, and that’s perfect! I’ve had so much fun playing the first two installments with friends and after seeing the trailer I’m sure were going to have much more fun in the wasteland!

Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13, 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Minecraft: Dungeons

Minecraft meets Diablo? Yes please! Minecraft: Dungeons looks like it’s going to be a fun multiplayer experience for both original and new fans alike. Searching dungeons and gathering loot while trying to fend off all kinds of enemies sure will be a blast!

Minecraft: Dungeons will be released in Spring 2020.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a much-anticipated sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. It’s unique aesthetic brings you into a very colorful world in which you battle and evade enemies. And like the first game, it will undoubtedly be a fun and challenging platformer.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be released on February 11, 2020 for PC and Xbox One.

Blair Witch

I gotta say I was not prepared for this. Blair Witch the video game? It’s not something that I knew I needed in my life but now I do! Horror games when done right are incredibly fun and immersive, and Blair Witch has a chance to be just that.

Blair Witch will be released on August 30, 2019 for PC and Xbox One.

There were some interesting announcements regarding a couple of things:

  • Xbox Gamepass Ultimate – $14.99 includes Xbox Gamepass Console, Xbox Gold, and Xbox Gamepass PC. (Only $1 for the first month if you sign up today!)
  • Double Fine, the studio behind Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and Broken Age, joins Xbox Studios
  • New console revealed – Project Scarlett – To be release with Halo Infinite Holiday 2020
