We expected to see some amazing things come from the Ubisoft showcase during E3 2019, but I don’t think anyone anticipated to see something like this. Gods and Monsters is an all new action adventure game developed by none other than the Ubisoft Quebec. This is the team behind Assassins Creed Odyssey that came out just last year. The trailer  gave us a small glimpse at the world we are going to be able to explore, the main character Fenyx, and a few of the iconic monsters we are going to face. Thankfully, Ubisoft shared a bit more information regarding the game as E3 2019 went on.

We know that we are going to play as Fenyx, a female protagonist who has set off on a quest in the beginning of the story. It is her job to restore power to the Greek gods after is was stolen by Typhon, the deadliest creature in Greek mythology. With powers bestowed upon them by the gods, players will get to explore the Isle of the Blessed. Here they can prove their heroism by facing off against mythical creatures. From the trailer we know we are going to see gorgons and harpies, but there are so many more than can pop up.

Ubisoft Quebec promises that this is going to play like a story book adventure at heart, but Gods and Monsters will also be an open world type experience. The players will be able to freely roam the ground and glide through the air while using their special powers. I am really excited to be able to explore this new world they have created, facing off against some of the deadliest creatures ever created. The art style reminds me a lot of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It has beautiful colors and a more mystical style that lends itself well to story being told.

Gods and Monsters is set to release on February 25, 2020 for PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4. You can get your pre-order now over on the Ubisoft website!
