Updated on:

Nintendo closed out the showcase portion of E3 2018 with a bang today at the Nintendo press conference. Rumors have been flying around for weeks regarding what games we were going to see and which of our favorites were getting ports to the Nintendo Switch. They wasted no time jumping right into their showcase and ending with a look at the new Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Check out the trailers below for your favorite games and any that you might have missed!

DAEMON X MACHINA

DAEMON X MACHINA has a powerhouse of a trailer that kicked off the Nintendo E3 2018 press conference with a bang. While little information was given regarding the game, the trailer shows off giant mech suits battling it out against even larger mech baddies. The visuals look fantastic and now need to see like a Gundam pilot more than ever. DAEMON X MACHINA will be available for the Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: TORNA The Golden Country DLC

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has seen its’ fair share of DLCs since its release however this one by far looks to be my favorite. TORNA The Golden Country DLC (downloadable content) will add onto the already massive story line. For those who love Xenoblade Chronicles 2, this is a wish come true. TORNA The Golden Country DLC will be available September 2018 on the Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario Party

If you grew up in the golden age of the N64 than you have probably ruined a few friendships over Super Mario Party. This co op party is coming back and this time looks to be portable. Players will be able to link their Nintendo Switches together so all 4 can battle against each other for the top spot. Super Mario Party will be available October 5, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.

Fire Emblem Three Houses

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a huge hit at the Nintendo Press Conference today. I love the Fire Emblem series and still replay the old games on my Nintendo 3DS. The graphics look amazing on the Nintendo Switch and the cut scenes almost look like a movie. It has been a year since Nintendo announced an exclusive Fire Emblem game with the Switch and I couldn’t be happier with what we saw. Fire Emblem: Three Houses will be available in spring of 2019 on the Nintendo Switch.

Fortnite

Rumors over the last week and a few leaks here and there pointed to a port of Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch. It was no surprise when it was announced however fans are even more excited that it is available today! The cultural phenomenon is on a roll this year amassing a huge following and doesn’t seem to be slowing day.

Overcooked 2

Fans of the original Overcooked were excited to see a sequel in the form of Overcooked 2 today. The game boasts even more mayhem in the kitchen with a few new abilities like throwing food in the kitchen or adjust on the fly as the kitchens change location. Who would have ever thought they would be cooking in a hot air balloon? Overcooked 2 will be available on August 7, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.

Killer Queen Black

Killer Queen Black is a super intense multiplayer strategy platformer that will take the original multiplayer arcade game to the next level. Killer Queen Black was rebuilt from the ground up to meet the expectations of Switch players while still paying homage to the original. Two teams of up to 4 players will be able to battle it out in an attempt to be victorious. Killer Queen Black will be available later this year for the Nintendo Switch.

Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is bringing back the beauty of hand drawn 2D imagery in this side scrolling platformer. It was announced earlier this year that Hollow Knight was being ported to the Nintendo Switch, but what was even more exciting is all the additional content would be made available as well. Hollow Knight can be downloaded today on the Nintendo Switch.

Octopath Traveler

Announced during the Square Enix presentation, Octopath Traveler will be an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. The game follows eight playable characters that each have their own path to take through this amazing world. Starting June 14th players can enjoy the first chapter demo of Octopath Traveler for free via the Nintendo eShop.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Goku and friends have had some amazing adventures throughout the years and Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of them. The Switch version has enhanced graphics to highlight the anime background and bring these characters to life. There will also be exclusive features for those who play on the Switch. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be available this year for the Nintendo Switch.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The bulk of the Nintendo E3 2018 press conference was focused on the announcement of Super Mario Bros Ultimate. If Super Mario Party didn’t ruin your friendship, Super Smash Bros definitely did. Every fighter in the history of the game will be available to play plus a few new fighters. Many adjustments have been made to bring the fighters up to date including moves, outfits, voices and even animation. Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be available on December 7, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo really stole the show this year with all their new announcements. The first half was an amazing showcase of new games for the Switch and some of our favorites being ported over. The second half focused on the upcoming Super Smash Bros Ultimate and had views blown away by the changes and additions to the game. While some of our favorite games were left unannounced, I’m looking at you Animal Crossing, I am sure we will get more news throughout the year! What news were you most looking forward to?
