DUNGEON MAYHEM: A New Card Game From Wizards of the Coast

Julia Roth

Today Wizards of the Coast announced their upcoming table top card game, Dungeon Mayhem! This easy to learn game pits 2 to 4 players against each other in battle full of spells, daggers and tons of mayhem. Each player takes control of an iconic adventurer from the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) realm and battles it out till the bitter end all in the name of treasure. The game is quick to learn for new players and a game of Dungeon Mayhem is quick but still extremely fun.

Everything you need in order to play comes right in the box. Dungeon Mayhem was designed by Jordan Comar and Roscoe Wetlaufer as a way to introduce newer plays into the ever growing world of D&D. It can also make for a great break for your long running campaigns. Director of D&D Nathan Stewart got to play test the game with Shelly Mazzanoble, the brand manager for Avalon Games, and C.J. Prosise, member of the Seattle Seahawks. Stewart had nothing but great things to say regarding the new card game.

The colorful art style and fast pace makes Dungeon Mayhem perfect for introducing new fans to D&D. In the time it took me to dictate this quote to my underlings, I’ve already thrown two dagger cards at Shelly Mazzanoble and blocked incoming damage from both the paladin and wizard. That treasure is MINE!

Illustrations for the cards were created by Kyle Ferrin with each deck represents a different character. The barbarian deck is represented by Sutha the Skullcrusher, the wizard deck is Azzan the Mystic, the rogue deck is Oriax the Clever, and the paladin deck is Lia the Radiant. Each character also features special powers like Azzan’s Vampiric Touch that forces another player to swap hit points with you!
