This new trailer for Dune is all about educating viewers on the story itself. For those new to the franchise, the story takes place in a future interstellar empire that relies heavily on a mysterious “spice” to enable trade and travel among the stars. This spice can only be found on the planet of Arrakis, which means whoever controls Arrakis pretty much controls the world.

The Dune trailer introduces us to Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), who is having dreams of a girl on Arrakis. But this girl isn’t just a dream. Chani (Zendaya) is very much real. It’s through Chani’s monologue in the beginning that we understand how the people of Arrakis are treated. The outsiders are trying to control them through force and fear. The trailer continues to show the mounting aggression between his house and House Harkonnen while giving more tidbits and what we can expect.

Dune‘s star-studded cast includes Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem, David Dastmalchian, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen and Sharon Duncan-Brewster.

Dune will release in theaters and HBO Max on October 22, 2021. You can check out the trailer below. What do you think of the reboot so far? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
