If you’re itching for more Dune, we’ve got the cure for what ails you. On Tuesday, Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled the first footage for Denis Villeneuve‘s sprawling sci-fi epic, Dune: Part Two, the sequel to the 2021 first chapter. It’s only a teaser, but it whisks us back to Arrakis and prepares us for what’s to come — a full-length trailer — as well as new looks at our all-star cast. Additionally, we were blessed with the first official poster.
Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) will rise among the Fremen while exacting vengeance for his father’s murder, Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac). His mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), is under the Fremen’s protection on Arrakis. We can expect Paul to fulfill his destiny alongside Chani (Zendaya) by reclaiming Arrakis from the Harkonnens and bringing down Emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken) once and for all.

At last week’s CinemaCon, Villeneuve, Chalamet and Zendaya took to the stage to introduce the official trailer to the attendees. As reported by Deadline, while there, Villeneuve teased the highly anticipated film:
“Part Two is an epic war movie, much more dense. We visited Arrakis. We visit new locations; everything is new in the film. In the first movie, we shot 40% in Imax — this time, it’s full Imax.” Zendaya made a solemn promise to the audience, shedding light on her character’s expanded role in the sequel.
“She’s not just in dreams this time. I only got a small time to find out who she was [in Part One]. … These are still two young people who are trying to grow up, fall in love and leave, being a warrior for your people.”

Besides Chalamet, Zendaya, Ferguson and Walken, Dune: Part Two also stars Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling and Tim Blake Nelson. Villeneuve directs from a script he penned with Jon Spaihts, adapted from the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert.
