Paul Atreides has revenge on the brain. On Wednesday, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures unleashed the official trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune: Part Two, the epic sci-fi sequel to 2021’s Dune. If said trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for a glorious, otherworldly spectacle.
Here’s a synopsis for the film per Warner Bros. Media:
“Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

In the trailer, we see Paul (Timothée Chalamet) ask Chani (Zendaya) to imagine the vast expanse of sandy dunes as water — water so deep; you can dive in. Princess Irulan Corrino (Florence Pugh) muses whether Paul’s alive after the ostensible fall of House Atreides and Duke Leto’s (Oscar Isaac) murder. Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) is in hiding, courtesy of the Fremen. She reminds her son that Duke Leto didn’t believe in revenge. However, Paul’s his own man, so pursue that path he must.
We get a better glimpse of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen (Austin Butler) and Lady Margot (Léa Seydoux), along with Paul’s highly anticipated “first ride.” We see him mount a massive sandworm after Stilgar (Javier Bardem) offers him riding advice. Additionally, Paul and Chani share a kiss, and Paul inspires a revolution. It’s time to save Arrakis from the Emperor and the Harkonnens.

Dune: Part Two stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, Tim Blake Nelson and Christopher Walken. Denis Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts, adapted from the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert.
I’m excited to see the second chapter take the big screen by storm. It looks as immersive and thrilling as its predecessor. Bring it on. Brace yourself for more sci-fi action when Dune: Part Two hits theaters on November 3, 2023. Check out the trailer below.
