“Dreams make good stories, but everything important happens when we’re awake.”
On Thursday, Warner Bros. unleashed the final trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s sprawling epic feature, Dune! Our visit to the intricate world created by Frank Herbert is only a few weeks away.
Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) ventures to a desert from his dreams, awakened by visions of a mysterious girl, Chani (Zendaya), and turbulent sandstorms on Arrakis. As the heir to House Atreides, Paul’s destiny is to bring peace to the ravaged lands rich with spice, the most powerful and rare resource in the universe. Now, Paul and Chani must work together to stave off colossal sandworms and nefarious forces seeking to destroy Paul’s family one by one.

As you can see in the trailer below, Dune boasts stunning visuals, an immersive setting and intriguing characters. Plus — that cast! We get a glimpse of Paul and Chani’s destinies, converging as the fate of all, from the Great Houses to everyone in between, lies in limbo.
I’m psyched about Dune, and while it might not hit the same notes as The Lord of the Rings (those are massive shoes to fill), it still looks like a fun, escapist adventure.
Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgård, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem. Villeneuve helms the film with a screenplay adapted from Herbert’s novel.
Brace yourselves for a journey to the land where spice flows when Dune hits theaters on Friday, October 22, with a same-day premiere on HBO Max.
