It’s the end of two eras. As reported by Deadline, DC favorites Doom Patrol and Titans will end with their respective fourth seasons on HBO Max. Both series finished Part 1 of their fourth seasons, with Titans airing its sixth episode on December 1, 2022, and Doom Patrol debuting its mid-season finale on January 5. The second parts of their final seasons have yet to hit the streamer. Thankfully, both series will receive proper endings.
Besides Doom Patrol and Titans, Berlanti Productions has one other program coming to a close — The Flash. This will mark the end of one chapter in the production company’s run at Warner Bros. Television Group. Recently, said company inked a new overall deal.

Warner Bros. Discovery has been under fire for its culling of content in 2022. James Gunn and Peter Safran have since taken over as heads of DC Studios and are currently crafting a plan for DC’s cinematic future. According to Variety, Gunn states the decision to end the above shows with Season 4 precedes him. Here’s what he had to say:
“The decision to end the series precedes us. But I certainly wish the best for the talented group of creators, actors, and the rest of the crew that produced both shows.”
Doom Patrol showrunner Jeremy Carver made a statement regarding the show’s final hurrah:
“To our wonderfully supportive partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and DC Studios, thank you for indulging us these past four seasons. Also, what were you smoking? To our brilliant cast, indomitable crew, fearless writing staff, and, most of all, to our beautiful fans: thank you all the more. You made this a once-in-a-lifetime ride.”

Titans showrunner Greg Walker also offered a statement about the series ending:
“I’m immensely proud of our gifted cast, crew, and writing staff and their efforts in bringing to life all forty-nine episodes over the last five-plus years. I couldn’t have asked for better partners in Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, and HBO Max, and from the beginning, Geoff Johns and Akiva Goldsman. I’m incredibly grateful for their unyielding trust throughout this process.
Lastly, I have to thank our incredible fans for their continued support, engagement, and the passionate community they’ve built around our show. We have six episodes left to unleash upon the world that we hope will give our beloved characters the creative closure we all know they deserve.”
While I’m glad each show has a chance to end on their terms, I’m still sad to see them go — especially Doom Patrol, one of the most innovative, darkly comedic and delightfully weird series on TV.
You can expect Part 2 of each show’s Season 4 to return with six new episodes later this year. What do you hope to see in the final episodes of Doom Patrol and Titans? Sound off in the comments below!
