Filming may have come to a screeching halt thanks to COVID-19 but thankfully things still seem to be moving forward offscreen. We received some pretty exciting casting news today for Olivia Wilde‘s upcoming psychological horror film Don’t Worry Darling. Florence Pugh, Shia LaBeouf, and Chris Pine have all signed on to star aside Wilde. Details around the film are being kept pretty hush-hush but we do know that it will be taking place in a utopian community in California during the 1950s. The film will center on a housewife played by Pugh who uncovers some unsettling truths about her seemingly perfect life.
Shooting for the film was set to begin in late spring but is up in the air due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. New Line has said that they plan to begin shooting as soon as they are able. Don’t Worry Darling was picked up by New Line in August of 2019. The script was originally written by executive producers Shane and Carey Dyke but was rewritten by Katie Silberman who is also acting as a producer alongside Wilde. Catherine Hardwick will also be serving as executive producer alongside the Dykes.
