Donal Logue will soon be making the move from Gotham City to Raccoon City! The actor is joining an already impressive cast for the upcoming Resident Evil origin movie, Deadline reports. Logue will portray Chief Irons, with Johannes Roberts at the helm.
Logue’s addition comes hot on the heels of previously announced leads Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia and Neal McDonough. Actors Lily Gao and Chad Rook have been cast in supporting roles. Production is currently underway.
Now, this Resident Evil flick is purported to be a faithful adaptation of its famous video game counterparts. The premise surrounds a fateful night in 1998 in Raccoon City, with the cast taking on the iconic video game roles we know and love.
We learned that Scodelario will play Claire Redfield, John-Kamen will portray Jill Valentine, Amell will play Chris Redfield, Hopper will portray Albert Wesker, Jogia will play Leon S. Kennedy and McDonough will portray William Birkin.
Donal Logue is best known for his star turn in FOX’s Gotham for five seasons. He was also in The Cloverfield Paradox, Blade and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His most recent appearances were in Quibi’s comedy series Dummy and CBS’ The Unicorn starring Walton Goggins.
I’m excited to see Donal Logue join this universe. Logue is an exemplary performer in everything he does. Not to mention, the aforementioned cast is a solid one. I’m also hopeful that this origin flick will remain faithful to the source material.
