We had believed that Marvel and Disney couldn’t break out hearts anymore than they have, but the newest trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is here to prove us wrong. The newest teaser dropped this morning and we all shed a tear for Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). The more we see about the upcoming film, the more we worry for her and the others.
The teaser opens with the old-school tunes of “All I have To Do Is Dream” by the Everly Brothers and sets up the idea that both Wanda and Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) are having dreams. Well, more like nightmares. Throughout the teaser, we get glimpses into these nightmares. Wanda’s nightmares include Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (Jett Klyne) who she lost at the end of WandaVision and heard calling to her in previous trailers for the film.

Strange’s dreams/nightmares include Christine (Rachel McAdams) and glimpses into the multiverse that we have seen before. The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser doesn’t give us any new world-blowing clips, but clearer images of ones we have seen including zombie Strange and zombie Wanda. These zombies tie directly into the What If…? Disney Plus series that aired last summer. This new twist on a superhero film has us on the edges of our seats in anticipation. We can’t wait to see just where this journey will take our heroes.
Alongside Cumberbatch, Olsen and McAdams, the film will also feature Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg and appearances from Hilliard and Klyne. Sam Raimi is serving as director with Kevin Fiege as executive producer.
