There has been a lot of exciting content released today in celebration of Star Wars Day, May the 4th, but the best thing we have gotten so far is a brand new trailer for the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus! The trailer is absolutely packed with information to give us a better look at what to expect from the show. We see Obi-Wan’s life as a Jedi on the run before he settles on Tatooine to watch over Luke. We even see Obi-Wan watching Luke from afar as he plays on the moisture farm in this new trailer.

Here’s what we know about the plot for Obi-Wan Kenobi so far. The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader who we finally get a proper teaser for in this trailer!

If the first trailer we got was all about Obi-Wan, this one is all about the villains. A lot of time is used to tease Vadar’s return. We see his suit being assembled and hear his iconic breath at the end of the trailer. This new series will be a return to the menacing Vader from the original trilogy. He will have to be to compete with Rupert Friend ‘s portrayal of the Grand Inquisitor, a high-ranking menace from the Empire who will already be familiar to Star Wars: Rebels fans.

We were also graced with a much better look of Moses Ingram’s Reva, another Inquisitor that will be persuing Obi-Wan during the course of the series. The Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer seems to suggest she will get much more screen time than we originally assumed. We predict she will be a major antagonist leading up to the final conflict with Obi-Wan’s former student, Vadar.

Speaking of, even with all the looming danger, part of the trailer that absolutely kicked me in the heart was Uncle Owen’s confrontation with Obi-Wan. We see them both in the market as Obi-Wan seems to be trying to persuade Owen to allow him to begin Luke’s training. He most likely already senses a strong connection to the force within Luke. Owen declines and instead throws Obi-Wan’s failure with Anakin back in his face.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney Plus on Friday, May 27, 2022. Subsequent episodes will premiere on the following Wednesdays. Check out the exciting trailer below! Do you have any predictions for the show? We want to hear your theories! Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
