Disney Plus Day is here! Besides subscribers receiving exclusive deals and discounts on items ranging from Funko pop figurines to apparel and even theater tickets, we have brand-spankin’ new footage for upcoming Marvel shows!
Which ones, you might be asking?
Marvel Studios shared its news roundup for Disney Plus Day on Disney’s exclusive streaming platform. While most of the 14-minute video showcases previous content from the past year, Disney sneakily inserts the new footage around the 8-minute mark.
Now, it opens with brief recaps for WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and What If…? The said recaps play chronologically — well, in order of original airdate. What follows after that is a new sneak peek for Hawkeye, with stars Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop) and Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton) embarking on a wild car chase.
We get to see more of Kate as the eager archer on the cusp of superhero greatness, soaking up everything Clint has to teach her. Clint warns Kate about the messy parts of being a hero, but, overall, both agree there are some perks.
The Christmas music inexplicably complements the action sequences, and I’m excited to see Renner and Steinfeld in their element soon.
Next, the final two minutes of the video unveils the new, new stuff, starting with Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector in Moon Knight. “I can’t tell the difference between my waking life and dreams,” Marc says. Then, “a man” (Presumably Ethan Hawke?) says, “The voice in your head devours you.” We see Marc donning his Moon Knight costume as he soars over rooftops under the light of the moon.
Then, Tatiana Maslany appears as Jennifer Walters in She-Hulk, “a normal lawyer.” We get a brief glimpse of her in her She-Hulk form, and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) informs her that “these transformations are triggered by anger and fear.”
Plus, there’s a vintage-style clip featuring Jennifer and Bruce, with Jennifer cheekily reciting Bruce’s signature line: “Don’t make me angry; you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
Lastly, we see Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. She admires what looks like a glittering piñata of Captain Marvel. “It’s not really the brown girls from Jersey City who save the world,” she says.
We see the origins of Kamala embracing her superpowers and sporting a makeshift costume much like Captain Marvel’s getup. The last shot reveals Kamala flying across the skies, but we see her reflection on the side of a skyscraper.
In short, Marvel fans have a ton to look forward to, and Disney Plus Day delivers incredible first-looks at these highly-anticipated series. I, for one, am beyond psyched.
If you’re a Disney Plus subscriber, you can watch the footage here. New and eligible returning subscribers can get Disney Plus for $1.99 for one month through Sunday, November 14.
Hawkeye premieres its first two episodes on Wednesday, November 24, on Disney Plus. Ms. Marvel will debut in the summer of 2022, while Moon Knight and She-Hulk are “streaming soon.”
