Diablo Immortal
Diablo Immortal is an MMORPG created by Blizzard Entertainment and released in 2022. It is an isometric RPG similar to other games in the Diablo franchise. The game takes place five years after Diablo II but before Diablo III. Sanctuary is once again threatened by Skarn, the Lord of Damnation. An old friend, Deckard Cain, explains that Skarn seeks shards of a powerful relic called the Worldstone. If you do not find the shards first, this could be the end of Sanctuary.

Gameplay
Diablo Immortal has so much content that I am going to keep it as bare as the bones in Ashwold Cemetery. Character creation is one of the best parts of any Blizzard game, and Diablo Immortal is no exception. Create up to five characters per account. Choose from eight different classes, including Barbarian, Monk, Necromancer, Wizard, Demon Hunter, Crusader, Blood Knight and the newest class, Tempest. Choose the class that best suits your style then set out to take on hoards of demons and undead.
The controls for Immortal are simple: drag the thumb stick button on the left to move your character. On the bottom right are the buttons for your spells. The large button in the middle is your basic attacks surrounded by the spells and skills you have based on your class. Tap a spell to use it, then wait for it to recharge to use again.
Modes and Systems
Along with the main storyline and pesky NPC side quests, Immortal offers plenty of other game modes. Form a Warband of up to eight players and take on difficult Helliquary raids. Or, join a clan, which is the Immortal version of a guild.

Immortal features a Paragon System, meaning once you reach the max level 60, you begin earning Paragon points. These points improve loot and allow access to new skill trees that make your character even stronger.
Legacy of the Horadrim has you collect ancient magic vessels scattered across Sanctuary. When vessels are placed at a Legacy Shrine, they give you a unique bonus. These can be upgraded for an even better bonus if you have the right materials.
Battleground is a PvP mode featuring an eight versus eight match where one team attacks and the other defends. The attacking team must slay Guardians, escort an idol and destroy the Ancient Heart. The defending team prevents all of this from happening before the time runs out.

The Cycle of Strife is an endgame PvP system in which players choose to join either the Immortals or the Shadows. These two factions then battle each other in several game modes including Vault Raids, Rite of Exile and The Challenge of the Immortal.
Battle Pass and Events
Diablo Immortal features a seasonal battle pass with new rewards each season. Some rewards are available for free, but Blizzard offers a basic battle pass for $4.99 and a collector’s pass for $14.99.

The entire reason I chose this game was because I saw they are currently having a World of Warcraft crossover event. The Shadow of the Frozen Throne event runs until July 26 and gives you an Icecrown avatar frame just for logging in. Ice gates have appeared all over Sanctuary and are filled with the Lich King’s undead army. Find and clear three of these ice gates to receive the Frostmourne weapon cosmetic.
There are several other events and challenges to complete for various loot. This game seems to be constantly updated with events, so there is always something new to try.
Our Adventure Ends Here
Diablo Immortal has everything you would expect from a Blizzard game. The graphics and art design are drool-worthy. Almost every NPC interaction is voiced, and the music creates the perfect atmosphere for the game. The amount of content Blizzard has managed to pack into this mobile game is seriously impressive.

Eight years ago, my first child was born, and I took a break from all MMOs. I just didn’t have the hours it takes to progress in these types of games, and I had more important things to do. Occasionally, I check back in with some of my favorites, but I still really don’t have the time to plant myself in front of my PC for hours on end. Diablo Immortal is a mini Blizzard MMO that you can take anywhere. Because most things you do in the game take no longer than ten or so minutes, I actually have the time to play this one.
Once I picked this game up, I could not put it down. It is easily one of the best mobile games I have ever played. The content and quality are top-notch, and my only regret is not starting the game when it was released.
