Finn Reveals the Truth in New Deleted Scene from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

Deleted scene alert! While only out on home release in a few days, we got a look at one of the (14!) deleted scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it’s interesting. Revealed on The Star Wars Show, we get to see another take on a major battle. Well, an intimate battle with major consequences. Finn (John Boyega) facing off against Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and of course – major spoiler warning!

In the clip, we see that the effects were never finished for the scene. (You can even see the crew in Phasma’s helmet!) We see this is after Finn has knocked out a section of Phasma’s helmet so we can see her piercing blue eye. Other troopers join her, surrounding the new Rebel. After facing each other down with Phasma goading him, Finn reveals the truth. She was the one who lowered the shields on Starkiller Base. But while Phasma asks who would believe his story, the surrounding troopers are seemingly suspicious. But before they can react, Phasma takes the matter into her own hands.

I kind of like this ending for Phasma over the flame ball death. Rumors were spreading that Finn would try to convert other troopers and while that didn’t play out, this is the closest thing to it. I’d like to see more questioning from the troopers. They’ve mostly been obedient soldiers in the films, so them questioning authority would’ve been a nice change of pace. However, it was not meant to be.
