Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer

Remember that scene in X-Men: First Class where Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) approach Logan (Hugh Jackman) in a bar, only to be rudely rebuffed? Well, fortunately, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a little more persistent.

Considering the trailer with the additional context of the teaser, the suggestion of a storyline begins to take form. It seems as though Wade is recruited by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to save his own timeline. Having no experience with this level of threat from Deadpool or Deadpool 2, Wade turns to a variant of Logan for assistance. Inevitably, Wade and Logan will join forces. But because this is a Marvel superhero movie, before that happens, they have to fight. Judging from the clips in the trailer, this does not go well for Wade.

In addition to this, we also get glimpses of Alioth, the decaying skull of Giant-Man (reminiscent of a variant of Pym from the panels of Old Man Logan) and Dogpool. Plus, eagle-eyed True Believers may notice Liefeld’s Just Feet, an allusion to Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld. And just FYI: Liefeld himself had a cameo appearance in Deadpool 2, where he also made fun of his infamous inability to draw anything below the ankles.

Still not enough? On top of all this, we also get to see Emma Corrin in action as antagonist Cassandra Nova. But sadly, and (according to Wade) per Kevin Feige, we won’t get to see anyone do cocaine in this one. Oh well, there’s always Deadpool 4!
