Marvel‘s Deadpool returns June 1, 2018, but the marketing for the new film has already begun!

The first teaser trailer for Deadpool 2 is everything we love about the mercenary and his twisted humor. The majority of the two-minute clip, titled “Gettin’ Wet on Wet”, has the man in red (Ryan Reynolds) dressed like Bob Ross, complete with a curly brown wig. He stands before an easel and various colors flash across the screen, each a play on big Hollywood names, movies, and random things, such as “Mannen Black” (Men in Black), “Betty White”, “Soylent Green”, “Box Office Gold”, and “Pretty ‘N Pink” (Pretty in Pink). Just like an episode of The Joy of Painting, Deadpool explains what colors he is mixing and how to begin creating the painting. What he puts on the canvas doesn’t correlate with the resulting painting, but Deadpool’s commentary on each painting (each new shot of the canvas is a new painting) is a new laugh.

When Deadpool startles himself with a red self-portrait blob over a serene creek side cabin, he drops the paint tray and the show cuts to a “Technical Difficulties” card. This, a full minute and a half in, is when the snippets of Deadpool 2 pop up! We get Deadpool drawing his gun from his holster, an outdoor shot of Deadpool taking aim, a warehouse explosion, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) jumping into his arms, Dopinder (Karan Soni) spitting while standing next to Deadpool who has duct-tape wrapping his arm (a battlefield dressing?!), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) flipping off the camera, Wade (Deadpool out of costume) jumping on a car from a fire escape and chasing someone through a dark street and slamming into another car, someone standing in a burning church, Domino (Zazie Beetz) making a door-busting entrance, a semitrailer busting through some glass, Wade and Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) sitting on their couch with weapons drawn, Weasel (TJ Miller) cocking a weapon, Deadpool rising from a coffin graveside, Deadpool weilding a chainsaw, and a counter top toaster oven dinging – all within ten seconds!

When “Bob Ross” Deadpool returns, the painting on the easel is the Norman Rockwell spoof that was used as a teaser poster recently. The camera pans over it, ala The Joy of Painting, as Deadpool narrates his holiday wishes to his fans. After the themed credits roll, there is one last snippet: a robot hand grabs for a gun stock (maybe?) on a table of parts…
