Behaviour is pulling out all the stops for their next Dead By Daylight chapter and I couldn’t be happier. Dead By Daylight is a 4 vs 1 asymmetrical surveil horror game that pits one lone killer against four victims trying to escape. Cursed Legacy will bring a new killer, new survivor and a new map to the game. This chapter will piggy back on the Shattered Bloodlines chapter from 2018, with the new killer being an ancestor of the Spirit, Yamaoka Rin. I was actually quite worried that this chapter wouldn’t quite live up to the hype of the Stranger Things chapter, but I am here to say that I was not let down.

The new killer brought to us thanks to the entity is Yamaoka Kazan, a Japanese Samurai. As heir to a famous swordsmanship school, he needed to surpass even his own reputation as a warrior and was drawn to a path of bloodlust and death. His war against self proclaimed samurai eventually birthed the name, Oni-Yamaoka, a fearsome and hideous creature of legend. He eventually fell to one of his prior victims in an act of revenge, but his terrors caught the entity’s eye. The art alone for Oni is by far one of the best we have seen, not to mention his in game animations and shift from samurai killer to true oni creature.

The newest survivor dragged into the entity’s realm is Kimura Yui, an underground motorcycling racing legend and winner of the prestigious Moto Grand Prix of Japan. Going against her parent’s wishes and what was expected of her, she left home to create her own story. She led a gang to help woman in troublesome situations until she herself one day up and disappeared. Now, thanks to the entity, she is still running races, but this one will be for life and death. Yui, just like Oni, looks terrific both in the artwork and in game. Not to mention she has a perk that allows her to pick back up pallets that have been thrown but not broken! Can you imagine just running around and resetting all of the unbroken pallets?

The Cursed Legacy chapter will be available starting on December 3, 2019 for $7.99 on PC, through Steam, Xbox One, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. Players will also receive an exclusive in game cosmetic for Kimura Yui.
