DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Gary Green will finally become a Legend. Adam Tsekhman, who portrays Gary, was promoted to series regular for season six. From fanboy to team member, you have to believe Gary’s smile is bigger than ever.

Tsekhman first appeared as Gary in season three, when he was just a lowly agent, eager to make Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) happy.  He’s popped in from time to time to fanboy over the Legends, but would get hurt or dismissed in the process. Gary actually lost a nipple when trying to help with an unruly unicorn. Most recently he served a new master as John Constantine’s (Matt Ryan) apprentice in season five. Yes, Gary is goofy, but he’s always there to serve and help when you need him.

Gary’s time with the Legends is interesting, but wait until you see his background story. According to Entertainment Weekly, Gary’s origin story is much more bizarre. Is anyone really surprised? I mean, how much more bizarre can the Legends get?

Season five ended with alien abduction of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz). In the new season, the team recruit Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz (Lisseth Chavez) to help in the search for Sara. Apparently Spooner is some kind of alien expert. We’ve seen the chaos that can happen when Sara is away, but she always comes back. This time, the Legends don’t even know where she is.

The “kids” go crazy when Sara is away, Legends executive producer Grainne Godfree said at DC Fandome. “I feel like Sara is one of the grounding influences on the show. Everyone is going a little bonkers in her absence. We really looked at this season in terms of, ‘What would it do to people to have Sara missing?'” I’m sure Gary will help take up as much slack as possible. The Legends are going need all the help they can get.

I’m excited for more Gary. He deserves to be a Legend, even if he gets in the way sometimes. Gary admires this team and the great work they do, even when they mess up. He fits right in with the Legends, and it’s about time he was appreciated for his efforts! Congrats Gary!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return in Spring 2021.
