Noah Centineo is joining the DC universe in the New Line/DC film, Black Adam. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Centineo will play Atom Smasher alongside Dwayne Johnson as the title character. Atom Smasher is a character who can control his molecular structure with the ability to manipulate his size, strength and durability.
You probably recognize Centineo from Netflix teen trilogy To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Part three is currently in post production. He also stars in Sierra Burgess is a Loser and the upcoming WWII drama The Diary.

Black Adam first appeared in DC Comics in the 1940s as a villain, corrupt by power. He was created to be the arch nemesis for the hero now known as Shazam. He became an anti-hero in the early 2000s. His origins are based in the fictional Middle Eastern kingdom of Kahndaq, and his powers are supernatural in nature. The film is a spinoff from 2019’s Shazam! starring Zachary Levi. How does Atom Smasher fit in? We’ll have to wait to find out. DC is keeping the details of the script under tight wrap.
Johnson who also produces with Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Jaume Collet-Serra signed on to direct, and Adam Sztykiel wrote the screenplay. Black Adam is expected to be a centerpiece at the inaugural DC FanDome. FanDome is Warner Bros.’ own Comic-Con-style experience celebrating all things DC.
For now, Black Adam is set to debut on Dec. 22, 2021.
