David Tennant

Fresh off the news that David Tennant was cast as “Kilgrave” in the upcoming Netflix series, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, the 10th Doctor was asked about the villain in an interview with Radio Times.

First of all, he says he’s honored and excited to be a part of it, saying that he’s excited to “… be a part of their ever expanding entertainment empire,” and that he “loves the movies, I love the TV shows, so I’m very pleased to be a part of one. I grew up an absolute devotee to the worlds of Marvel, so the fact that they’ve expanded now into TV and film is a fact that I fantasized about when I was younger.”

Then, in talking about how he might use his powers against Jessica Jones, Tennant responds with, “Who says it’s a villain? Make no assumptions. I’m saying nothing … I’ve found myself in another world which I can answer no questions about.”

Okay. What? There’s no way. It’s THE Purple Man. He’s not only a bad guy, he’s the lowest of the low. He forces people to do and want things that they don’t actually want to do or like. That’s terrible.

So, is Mr. Tennant toying with us or is Netflix repositioning his character in some way?

Cannot wait for this to come out.
