It has been revealed that Arty Froushan will join the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. The news was announced in an article posted on Deadline on Monday, March 27, 2023. The Deadline announcement does not reveal what role Froushan will be playing in the series. Deadline states Marvel did not respond to a request for confirmation regarding the casting. However, Froushan quote Tweeted the Deadline article with a superhero emoji, seemingly confirming the report’s accuracy.

Daredevil: Born Again

Born Again is the Disney+ revival of the Netflix Daredevil series that began in 2015. It will feature the return of Charlie Cox as the eponymous protagonist Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. Perhaps equally (or even more) exciting is the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as the antagonist Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin. In addition, it was previously announced that Jon Bernthal would reprise the role of the Punisher for Born Again.

Froushan’s participation in the series was revealed only after he had been spotted in the first on-set photo for the series. In that pic, Froushan appeared alongside D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.

According to Deadline, his inclusion has led to speculation that Froushan may be playing “Harry.” If true, this could mean Froushan will step into the role of Harry Osborne, who has indeed crossed paths with Kingpin through the years. Deadline speculates this could reveal a connection between Born Again and the Mayor Fisk storyline from Marvel Comics. During this storyline, Harry was connected to Kindred, a demonic entity involved in Fisk’s quest to resurrect his late wife, Vanessa.

Harry is generally considered a Spider-Man villain. However, at a GalaxyCon panel on Sunday, March 26, 2023, D’Onofrio repeated a vow he made during Daredevil Season 1. “Eventually, I’m going to kick Spider-Man’s ass,” stated D’Onofrio. Previously, Harry was played by James Franco in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home established that an all-new, all-different actor could play MCU variants of characters from that trilogy.

Daredevil: Born Again will premiere its 18-episode first season in early 2024. All three seasons of the Netflix Daredevil series are currently available for streaming on Disney+.
