Marvel fans, our prayers have been answered. On Thursday, the mega studio shared a one-hour video of Daniel Brühl dancing as Zemo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. DCEU lovers have their Snyder Cut, but we’ve got The Zemo Cut.
In last Friday’s episode entitled “Power Broker,” there’s a scene wherein Zemo, Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) reunite with Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) in Madripoor. Sharon sells legitimate artwork to shady buyers with an overabundance of cash. She hosts a swanky party to appease said buyers. We see Zemo take to the dance floor as no one has before. With the graceful moves and physical prowess of a seasoned professional dancer.

While the initial cut showcases a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it dancing Zemo, the internet rallied together for the full scene with a #ReleaseTheZemoCut hashtag. Brühl himself sat down with Men’s Health to pull back the veil regarding Zemo’s smooth moves. Here’s what he had to say:
I couldn’t be happier, because that was improvised. It happened on the day—it wasn’t on the page. I was standing there, heard the beats and saw the crowd dancing. I thought, “Let’s go.” Zemo, after sitting in prison for years, needs to let off some steam, and I also knew that this would annoy Sam and Bucky.
Then I started dancing. I could tell from the reactions that people were really not sure if that was serious or not, but to me it made total sense. Then I thought, “How would Zemo dance?” and I went for that choice—which is not the way I dance.
But to me it made total sense. And at the end, when we wrapped, I was 100 percent sure that they would cut it out of the show, and that it wouldn’t find its way to the final cut. When I saw [the final scene], I was so thankful. I texted the producer and the director and said, “Thank you guys for having that little moment where Zemo is showing his moves.”
Marvel really does keep us fed. Talk about nourishing sustenance by way of comic book characters letting loose on the dance floor!
You can watch Zemo boogying for an hour in the video below. While I didn’t watch the whole thing (yet), I did skim through it. There aren’t any cameos from Sam or Bucky. Just Zemo “vibing,” as the kids say. Even convoluted, morally gray villains need to let off some steam.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier streams new episodes every Friday on Disney Plus.
