D23 2019: THE MANDALORIAN Trailer Brings Thrills to the Outer Reaches

One of the most exciting new releases coming to Disney+ is the first ever Star Wars live action series. The Mandalorian will bring us to the Outer Reaches of the galaxy as an unnamed, lone gunslinger travels far and wide for bounty money. Showrunner Jon Favreau and pilot director/producer Dave Filoni came out on the D23 stage to introduce fans to the underground world of Star Wars. They shared insight, images, but most importantly, the debut teaser trailer.

The trailer starts with a haunting image – Stormtrooper helmets on spikes, symbolizing the end of the Empire. We’re then taken around the galaxy as The Mandalorian picks up bounties, showing off incredible scenery. We’re shown new creatures, new characters and even some familiar faces. The Death Troopers have a new leader and they’re creating chaos where ever they can. Meanwhile, The Mandalorian is getting into bar fights, teaming up with IG-88, and mowing down troopers with a machine gun. Bounty hunting can be a dangerous business, you know.

I am incredibly hyped for this show. When we were shown footage at Star Wars Celebration this year, I was excited. The world looked fascinating and the characters immediately interesting. With this trailer though, I am all aboard the hype train. The action looks really fun, the visuals are stunning. I am here for it. Do I really have to wait until November to see the first episode? Really?

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, a former Rebel shocktrooper, and Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, the leader of a bounty hunter guild. It also stars Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner HerzogTaika Waititi, Bill Burr and Mark Boone Junior.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian debuts on Disney+ on November 12th, 2019.
