Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. appeared at D23 on Friday with the season seven premiere episode and a season seven teaser trailer. While we will have to wait to watch the first episode of season seven, we were fortunate to get a season seven teaser trailer.
Clark Gregg) was on hand at the panel with co-star Jeff Ward, producers and show runners Maurissa Tancharoen, Jed Whedon and Jeff Bell. After the screening of the season seven premiere, the panel didn’t say much about what to expect. Instead they reminisced a lot about their journey. Gregg used his time to thank the fans for their love and support and that awesome #CoulsonLives campaign.
Here’s what we know coming out of season six. After a big showdown with a couple of super beings from another realm, the team regrouped only to run into the next problem. The Chronicoms’ planet, Chronica II no longer exists. They kidnapped Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) to find a way to time travel back in time to save their planet, but got nothing. Now they want to make Earth their new home, Chronica III.
The Chronicoms are using all of the information about S.H.I.E.L.D. that they gathered from Fitz and Simmons’ brain scans. They know the only people that can stop them from taking over the planet is S.H.I.E.L.D. Renegade Chronicom Enoch (Joel Stoffer) is assisting Fitz and Simmons to avoid a hostile take over. Unfortunately, that means Fitz and Simmons had to be separated.

Simmons explained as much as she could to Director Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) and Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet). S.H.I.E.L.D. needed a super computer. Someone who knew all of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s history and could protect it. So they made a new LMD from Chronicom technology, thus bringing Agent Phil Coulson (Gregg) back to life.
It appears the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is travelling back to the 1930’s and the Chronicoms are hot on their trail. To make matters worse, HYDRA is also lurking around during that time. How much time will it take to secure Earth and S.H.I.E.L.D.? Watch the teaser trailer below.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return in Summer 2020 on ABC.
