If you thought we lost our chance to ever see Legends of the Hidden Temple with Quibi’s shutdown, then you were pleasantly wrong! The CW is here to save my childhood dreams! They have ordered a new, reimagined edition of the beloved Nickelodeon adventure series! If you have lived under a rock your whole life or just happened to be born after it left the air, Legends of the Hidden Temple was a game show where teams of two faced off against each other to solve puzzles, answer questions based on history, mythology and geography as well as navigate obstacle questions all to win the chance to Olmec’s temple.

Legends of the Hidden Temple was everything and I can’t remember a kid in my school who didn’t beg their parents at least once to get them on the show. So, of course, we were all excited to learn of its return and then saddened when we realized it wouldn’t be happening. And now, I am jumping with joy again, but being cautious. However, knowing it is coming to the CW rather than a brand new streaming service gives me a bit more hope.

The CW’s new version brings back the series’ favorite elements, including Olmec, Moat Crossings, the Steps of Knowledge and the Temple Run. Players will, of course, be split into the iconic teams – Purple Parrots, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, Red Jaguars, Silver Snakes and the Green Monkeys. A big change is going to be that this Legends of the Hidden Temple is taking things out of the studio and into the “jungle” with adult-sized challenges significantly harder than the originals.

And yes, you read that right. Adult-sized. Because Legends of the Hidden Temple is going to feature adult contestants! The better part is that if you live in or can visit the Los Angeles area in July and over the age of 21, you might have a chance to join! Casting information for the show can be found here! Now we don’t have a release date or even a trailer, but the hype is still real!
